MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION PROGRAM:
SOUTH CAROLINA
MINDFULNESS IS simply allowing yourself to be where you are and as  you are, right now, in the present moment, without judgment. Mindfulness is developed by purposefully paying attention in a non-judgmental way, to what is going on in your body, your mind and in the world around you. We call this moment-to-moment awareness mindfulness. It is about being awake and aware - living in the present rather than dwelling in the past or  anticipating the future. The goal of the 8 week Mindfulness Meditation Program is to assist you in taking  better care of yourself and get more out of living. More than twenty years of published research indicates the majority of people who complete the course report: An increased ability to relax and experience calm | Greater energy, enthusiasm and appreciation for life | Heightened self-confidence and acceptance for life as  it is | An increased ability to cope more effectively with both short and long-term stressful situations.

This program is modeled on the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. MBSR has proven beneficial for people dealing with: Stress and stress related issues | Chronic pain | Anxiety and depression | Asthma | Cancer | Heart disease | High blood pressure | Fatigue | Fibromyalgia | Headaches.
